Our THANKSGIVING SEASON vision:
Fools for Tragedy continues it's first season with the community in mind - successful theatre needs the strong support of the community. We would very much like to show our support to our audience by providing quality entertainment that provokes thought and inspires social action at reasonable prices, to local causes and groups that help keep Milwaukee strong through volunteer work and donations, and to the passionate and dedicated independent theatre groups with well defined mission statements dedicated to creating art and social change through the performing arts.
For our AUDIENCE:
Fools for Tragedy understands that you can't just expect an audience to show up and give you money. No relationship should work like that and a relationship is exactly what great theatre should develop with an audience. We are dedicated to providing Milwaukee with new and interesting ways to experience the performing arts at extremely reasonable prices without ever asking for a donation for ourselves. We are determined to keep our ticket prices extremely reasonable by putting on shows within our means and a concentration on telling a compelling story. This in no way means that our productions will not be stylish, well designed, and strong concept driven pieces - the stories we tell will have a deep meaning and connection to the group producing them, so the theatre you witness will feel truly alive. Our major performance focus will concentrate on the revitalization of classic work by creating a connection between the audiences of today and the words that were written so long ago. We feel these stories still have strong relevance today and can resonate powerfully if they are kept in tune.
For a GOOD CAUSE:
Fools for Tragedy would like to show that our responsibility to the community is not just reflected in the work we do onstage, but in the real world as well. We encourage our members and patrons to be socially conscious and active participants in all areas. Theatre means very little without a strong heart keeping it alive. Live better. Act Better.
